Dutch champions Ajax have prevented Mohammed Kudus from traveling to Antalya, Turkey to join the rest of the Black Stars squad due to the club's precautionary measures against Covid-19.
Kudus was scheduled to arrive in Turkey by Tuesday for the first training session but the 20-year-old wasn't part of the players who arrived at the camp.
Earlier, Ajax had cited that Kudus will not be available for international duty after picking up an injury. However, the Ghana Football Association asked that the player still travels to Turkey so he is assessed by the medical team.
Reports now coming in from Netherlands suggest that Kudus alongside Zakaria Labyad, Noussair Mazraoui and Lassina Traoré will not be released for international break as a precautionary measure due to Covid-19.
Joy Sport's Owuraku Ampofo provides the timeline of events so far:
The Black Stars will face Mali on Friday, October 9, before they battle Qatar three days later in Antalya, Turkey.
