Afrobeat singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has expressed outrage over a viral video showing a brutal bullying incident involving students of Igbinedion Secondary School in Edo State.
The singer reacted on X on Sunday, condemning the behaviour in strong terms. “Fuckin animals… so disgusting,” he wrote in response to the footage circulating online.
The video shows two male students repeatedly assaulting a fellow student who had fallen to the ground.
At one point, one of the attackers drags the victim by his school uniform and stomps on his chest and head while the boy cries out in pain.
A third student, recording the incident, can be heard begging them to stop.
The disturbing footage quickly sparked widespread outrage on social media, prompting immediate action from the school authorities.
In response, the school in question expelled the students involved in the bullying and suspended the student who made the recording.
In addition, in a statement, the Edo State Police Command confirmed that the students involved have been expelled, while the student who recorded the incident has been suspended.
Police spokesperson Eno Ikioyedem said the Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, has directed the Divisional Police Officer in the area to carry out a full investigation.
“The Edo State Police Command strongly condemns acts of bullying, violence, or intimidation among students, and anyone found culpable will face the full weight of the law,” the statement added.
