The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament-elect for the Ablekuma West constituency in the Greater Accra region, Rev. Dr. Kweku Addo, says Ghanaians must exercise patience with the incoming government.
According to him, it will take time for the new NDC leadership to address what he described as a “mess” left by the outgoing Nana Akufo-Addo administration.
“The assurance for the Ghanaian people is that they need to be patient with us. Definitely, it is going to take a while to figure out how bad the mess is, and then we all put in our bit to cut the cost and to do things in moderation, even in our constituencies and everywhere,” he said.
Dr Addo expressed confidence in President-elect John Dramani Mahama, citing his experience and leadership style as key factors in ensuring the success of the new administration.
“I think we will all have to brighten our own corners, and I believe with the experience that His Excellency [John Dramani Mahama] has and his style of leadership, definitely, it will turn out good,” he remarked.
The new MP emerged victorious over the incumbent Member of Parliament, the Minister of Communications and Digitalisation, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, in the just-ended general elections last Saturday.
Ursula Owusu-Ekuful lost her seat after securing 26,575 votes, while Dr Addo won with 31,866 votes.
