Medeama Sporting Club climbed to the summit of the betPawa Ghana Premier League standings following their thumping win over Hearts of Oak over the weekend.
The Tarkwa-based side thrashed the Phobians with a 5-1 score at the Accra Sports Stadium on matchday 31 of the league to jump above Aduana Football Club and occupy the top spot.
Aduana were dealt a huge blow in their quest for a third league title after they suffered a 0-3 loss to Accra Lions on Saturday, May 20.
The defeat meant Aduana stayed on 52 points with Medeama, who were two points before Sunday's game, utilising the slip from the Dormaa-based side to go top.
Elsewhere in league, Abednego Tetteh scored a brace for Bibiani GoldStars in their 2-0 win over Tamale City.
