Bolt, the leading ride-hailing platform in Africa, is thrilled to announce the next phase of its Accelerator Program, marking a significant milestone in empowering Ghanaian drivers and couriers on their entrepreneurial journeys.
Following a video pitch presented by all 120 participants, Bolt has shortlisted the top 20 who have demonstrated exceptional potential and commitment to innovation through tech in addressing mobility challenges in Ghana. These individuals will move into the Bolt Den Phase, where they will compete for seed funding of €2000.
This phase doubles as a boot camp, providing intensive training with industry experts to refine their ideas and prepare for the highly anticipated pitch day in June.
The remaining 100 participants will continue their journey with the Bolt Academy, where they will undergo comprehensive online business training in collaboration with Alison, a leading online training platform.
This training will equip them with essential entrepreneurial skills across various domains, including Digital Marketing, Leadership Skills, Project Management, Customer Relationship Management, Entrepreneurship, and Communication Skills. Upon completion, they will attend a virtual graduation
ceremony to celebrate their achievements and new skills.
The Bolt Den Phase: Intensive Training and Mentorship
The top 20 participants selected for the Bolt Den Phase will receive exclusive training sessions led by seasoned industry leaders. This phase includes virtual training sessions, designed to hone their entrepreneurial ventures further and prepare them for the final pitch day.
The innovative ideas that made it into the top 20 phase revolved around making cities more people-centric through electric bikes, charging stations at designated spots in cities, recycling initiatives to create a friendlier environment and inclusive transport systems designed for disabled or senior citizens in the society.
These inspiring individuals come from various cities across Ghana, including Accra, Kumasi, and Tasoa.
Ewoma Jerry-Ogeme, Bolt’s Public Policy Specialist, commented on the program's progression, saying, “As we advance to the Bolt Den Phase, we are excited to see the passion and innovation our participants bring. This program is a significant opportunity for drivers and their families to embark on an entrepreneurial journey that aligns with Bolt’s vision for sustainable urban mobility in Africa. We look forward to supporting these aspiring entrepreneurs as they develop their business ideas and contribute to positive change in their communities.”
In collaboration with The Nest Innovation Technology Park, Bolt continues to provide a supportive ecosystem for all participants. Leveraging the expertise of a network of mentors, Bolt ensures that participants receive guidance through every step of their entrepreneurial journey.
