Eric Edem Agbana, the 2024 Parliamentary Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Ketu North in the Volta Region, has committed to securing 95% of votes in his constituency for the party in the upcoming December elections.
Agbana made this bold pledge during a campaign and manifesto launch held at Dzodze on Sunday, September 1, marking the official start of the NDC’s campaign in the constituency.
Speaking to thousands of enthusiastic party supporters and residents from various towns within Ketu North, Agbana, who previously served as the Deputy National Youth Organiser of the NDC, revealed that his team's initial target was to secure 85% of the votes. However, a recent survey conducted by his campaign team suggests that the party could achieve as much as 95% of the votes in the upcoming elections.

“Our working target was about 85 per cent, but our latest survey shows every indication that we can secure 90-95 per cent of the total votes in this constituency for the NDC. This is largely due to the work we have done since I became the parliamentary candidate,” Agbana stated. He also highlighted various projects and initiatives detailed in the newly launched manifesto, which outlines his vision for the constituency and the broader plans of NDC’s presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, for Ketu North come 2025.

Agbana expressed confidence that the development initiatives and clear messaging would motivate voters to turn out in large numbers. “It is all about the work we have done, our message, and the fact that the good people of Ketu North can clearly see development on the horizon and will come out in their numbers to vote massively for President Mahama and myself on December 7,” he added.
During the event, Agbana outlined his vision for Ketu North, focusing on youth development, skills acquisition, job creation, education, social and economic infrastructure, and support for the vulnerable and aged.
The manifesto launch was well attended by constituency, regional, and national executives of the NDC, alongside several party stalwarts who addressed the crowd on various topics.

Dr James Klutse Avedzi, the outgoing MP for Ketu North and Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee in Parliament, praised Agbana as a hardworking and dedicated leader. He expressed confidence in Agbana’s ability to advance the development of the constituency, describing him as a worthy successor who would take Ketu North to new heights.
The event marks a significant step in the NDC’s campaign efforts in Ketu North as the party gears up for a highly anticipated election season.
