Mr. Gabby Asare Octhere-Darko announced his status to the Committee probing the motion for censure against his cousin.
This happened after he indicated his desire to speak to the Committee and was asked about his capacity.

He responded saying “I am Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko and I am the counsel for the Finance Minister.”
Ahead of this, the Finance Minister had written to the Committee requesting full particulars of the allegations against him in the Minority’s motion.
Parliament is currently probing a motion for a vote of censure against the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.

The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin on Thursday, November 10, constituted an 8-member committee co-chaired by K.T. Hammond, Adansi-Asokwa MP, and Dominic Ayine, Bolgatanga East MP to probe the allegations.
The Committee, which has seven days to submit its report, comprises Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, Bernard Ahiafor on the Minority side and Patrick Yaw Boamah, Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi and Andrew Agyapa Mercer from the Majority side.

It would be recalled that the Minority side in Parliament filed a motion seeking a vote of censure to be passed on Ken Ofori-Atta over the current economic crisis.
The NDC MPs made seven allegations against the Finance Minister.
The claims are; conflict of interest, unconstitutional withdrawals from the Consolidated Fund, illegal payment of oil revenues into offshore accounts, deliberate and dishonest misreporting of economic data to Parliament, fiscal recklessness, alarming incompetence and gross mismanagement of the Ghanaian economy.
