The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed the future of Black Stars coach Otto Addo remains undecided as reported by JoySports.
According to Henry Asante-Twum, the GFA's Communications Officer, the council decided to consult with the government before making a final decision.
"The council deferred the meeting and said they'd have to consult the government after which a firm decision will be made, and that's what we'd be waiting for," Asante-Twum revealed on Joy FM's Game Plan show.
Asante-Twum also touched on the contractual implications of terminating Coach Addo's contract, citing the example of former Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac, who had to be reimbursed since his contract was terminated.
He also lamented on how the GFA was left to pay Milovan Rajevac after he took the FA to FIFA and won without the help of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The GFA EXCO's meeting came after the Black Stars failed to qualify for the AFCON 2025. They were unable to win a single match in all six qualifying matches.
The team dropping in the latest FIFA rankings added pressure on the GFA to make changes to the blackstars' immediate technical team.
With the 2026 World Cup qualifiers on the horizon, the blackstars will be looking to redeem themselves and qualify for the tournament. The fate of Coach Addo remains uncertain, with the GFA's decision pending consultation with the government.
