The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has prevented a grader from complete destruction after it caught fire on the Ajumako–Swedru road expansion project.
Firefighters from the Essiam Fire Station responded promptly to an emergency call reporting the blaze at Ajumako Amia. Upon arrival, they found a grader (140H) engulfed in flames.

The team worked swiftly to contain and extinguish the fire, preventing further damage.

According to a post on the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) Facebook page, the fire damaged the grader’s engine compartment, hydraulic system, and wiring.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported, and the fire is currently under investigation.

The GNFS has urged the public to exercise caution around heavy machinery and electrical equipment while investigations continue into the cause of the fire.
