Karela United moved out of the relegation zone with an emphatic win over Young Apostles on Sunday.
Goals from Abdul Latif and Malik Abubakar in the first half contributed to a 3-0 win on the day.
The home side, after a shaky start to the game, opened the scoring the 32nd minute.
The lead doubled just before the break with Abubakar scoring on the 43rd-minute mark.
Young Apostles barely threatened the defence of Karela leading to their troubled first half performance.
After the recess, the Wenchi-based side were able to hold off competition from
Karela in the early minutes.
Despite being presented few opportunities, Young Apostles were unable to reduce the deficit.
Just when the game seemed to be ending 2-0, the home side scored their third to wrap up a great performance.
The win takes them to 14th on the league table with just two points behind Young Apostles ahead of the final game of the season.
