Asante Kotoko started their 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign with a 1-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea on Saturday.
Kotoko had not won away to Chelsea at the Golden City Park since 2010.
However, forward Albert Amoah halted the record with a low and hard strike to beat the hosts’ goalkeeper, Adu Emmanuel.
Up next for Berekum Chelsea is an away clash against Swedru All Blacks.
Meanwhile, the win is a real shot in the arm for Kotoko, who are preparing for the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Porcupines face Nigeria’s Kwara United on September 21.
