Kingsford Boafo wrote his name in the history of Bibiani Goldstars as he became the first player to score a Ghana Premier League goal for the club on Sunday.
Boafo scored the winner in their opener against Berekum Chelsea with a well placed strike less than 10 minutes into the second half.
His goal separated the two sides as Goldstars picked up their first ever three points in the topflight.
The Bibiani-based club now sit fifth in the standings after matchday one after their historic win.
CEO of the club, Kwesi Aidoo, stated before the season the club had aspirations of staying in the league.
“The vision of Gold Stars is big but we can’t say much here. However, the most important thing is that Gold Stars must sustain in the Ghana Premier League forever,” said Mr. Aidoo.
Goldstars travel to face Medeama on November 6, before playing at home against Asante Kotoko on November 13.
Goldstars keep writing history
The story of Bibiani Goldstars has been remarkable with the club breaking records after records.
They rewrote their history books by securing promotion to the Ghana Premier League for the first time.
Goldstars in the process last season also become the first side to be promoted from the Division One League to the Premier League.
They will hold the mantle geographically for a sector of the west as they also became the first team from the Western North Region to qualify to play in the top division of Ghana football.

The people of Sefwi and Bibiani township turned up in their numbers to witness history as they won their first league game on Sunday.
With a bright start and supporting crowd, Goldstars have everything in place to write more history this season
