Brazilian duo Fabio Gama and Michael Vinicius scored to inspire Asante Kotoko to outclass Bechem United 4-0 in the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium.

Gama was the first of the Brazilian pair to score in the match. He volleyed home from close range to make it two goals in two appearances under new coach Mariano Barreto

Gama's Brazilian counterpart Vinicius also scored from a rebound just three minutes into his debut.

It is Kotoko’s biggest victory this season, but for Bechem, the defeat does not topple their 6-1 thumping at the hands of Hearts of Oak in early January.

The Porcupine Warriors were superior from start to finish. Their performance will certainly please head coach Barreto who demanded more from his players after they were held to a stalemate by Techiman Eleven Wonders.

Ismail Ganiyu, who impressed greatly in his debut Black Stars call-up, gave Kotoko the lead in the 13th minute. The centre-back hit a low drive into the net after a fine pass by Gama.

Two minutes to halftime, Gama doubled the lead. Augustine Okrah picked up an unmarked Gama inside the box and the Brazilian powered the ball past the goalkeeper with his right foot. He dedicated the goal to his pregnant wife.

The third goal arrived in the 63rd minute courtesy youngster Francis Andy Kumi, who was making his first start for Kotoko since he joined them from Unistar Academy last month.

Vinicius got on the scoresheet on the 83rd minute. He was at the right place to convert into an empty net after Okrah's rebound hit the post.

It was the first time in 1,774 days that Asante Kotoko have scored 4 goals in a single Ghana Premier League game.

Kotoko, by virtue of the win, find themselves in third place and two points behind league leaders Great Olympics while Bechem United have dropped to seventh.
