Hasman Technical Services Ltd has presented ¢100,000 to the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR).
The donation by the Ghanaian-owned company which provides technical services to the power generation and oil and gas sectors is to support the institute to enhance its testing activities in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Ghana’s leading biomedical research institute NMIMR has been at the receiving point and testing of samples from health institutions since the first case of Covid-19 was recorded in Ghana.

Presenting the cheque to Director of the NMIMR, Prof. Abraham Kwabena Annan, Managing Director of Hasman, William Andoh Wood said the company considered the critical and sensitive role NMIMR was playing to manage and control the pandemic. This prompted the decision to support the institute.
“Your team at the institute put your lives at risk considering the highly contagious nature of Covid-19 to support the country to manage this disease and we commend your effort”, Mr. Wood said.

While wishing the institute well, Mr Wood appealed to the public to abide by the directives outlined by government and health officials to control the pandemic for the return of social and economic life of the country.
Prof. Annan on his part thanked Hasman company for the donation and said such support from companies confirms that society appreciates their work and will encourage them to do more.
