The Head Chef at Alisa Hotel, Michael Quainoo, has revealed that he has over the years been picking new recipes from the contestants who participate in the Onga Cook Art competition.
According to him, since joining the competition as a judge, he has been updating his restaurant's menu with new recipes he discovers from the contestants.
Mr Quainoo made this admission while critiquing the meal presentation of Apam SHS at the Grand Finale of the 2023 Onga Cook Art.
APASS wows the judges with their yamish, beet sauce, cutos salad, and multi-coloured dessert for a Lacto-ovo vegetarian.

"Do you know why I like it when Onga gives me the chance to be a judge on this show? It's because anytime I come here, I pick up new recipes to add to the menu at my restaurant.
"Last year I picked a recipe, and this year I am not going to suffer with Lacto-ovo vegetarian meals because of your recipe," he told Apam SHS contestants.
Although Apam SHS impressed the judges with their cooking, it was not enough to beat off competition from their contenders.
They placed third, walking home with a cash prize of ten thousand Ghana cedis, bronze medals, certificates, and products from the lead sponsor, Onga.

Notre Dame Girls’ SHS emerged champions after leading the entire competition to clinch their first-ever victory at the Onga Cook Art competition.
They went home with a plaque, gold medals, a cash prize of ¢20,000 and some goodies from Onga and Cowbell.
Yaa Anstewaa Girls’ SHS and Sefwi Bekwai SHS took second and fourth positions, respectively.
