President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his commitment to fighting against corruption by restoring public trust in state institutions.
The new president said he will not be reluctant in his quest to ensure that the various institutions mandated to curb corruption get the needed attention.
“We will strengthen the institutions of accountability, that is the anti-corruption institutions in order to ensure that public trust is restored” he said.
He added that his reset agenda is a call on every Ghanaian to join forces against the wrongs in the system.
“The reset agenda is a call to action for every Ghanaian to join in building a state where justice, peace and progress will flourish,”.
He said this at the 92nd annual National Convention of Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission of Ghana in the central region on Thursday, January 9, barely two days after taking office as the 6th president of Ghana.
“Together we can overcome obstacles and create a brighter future for all” he added.
Public trust in institutions of the state depends largely on governance practices, the state of the economy and political leadership.
While significant progress has been made through anti-corruption initiatives, institutional reforms, and growing public awareness, problems still persist.
Continued efforts are needed to strengthen governance, enhance transparency, and ensure that those involved in corrupt activities are held accountable.
