The Executive Director of the Parliamentary Network, Sammy Obeng, has emphasised the need for Parliament to consider cost-related matters when making decisions.
Speaking on the Joy News AM Show, Mr Obeng said that it is particularly important for government institutions, such as Parliament, to be mindful of budget allocations, especially when resources are limited.
His comments come after a three-day orientation programme was held for Members of Parliament at the Volta Serene Hotel in Ho.
Mr Obeng explained that Parliament has frequently raised concerns about the financial provisions made for its work, particularly when budget allocations affect the ability of committees to carry out their duties.
These financial constraints, he said, can hinder the effective functioning of Parliament.
"Orientation is important, but this is an institution that has a budget deficit or lacks the resources it needs to do its work, so it must be very prudent in managing its finances," he concluded.
