Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Presidential Advisor and Special Aide to President John Dramani Mahama, has formally demanded a retraction, public apology, and GH₵10 million in compensation from the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye.
This follows alleged defamatory remarks made by Abronye during a television interview broadcast on Net 2 TV on 26th March, 2025.
In a legal notice dated 3 April 2025 and issued by R.O. Solomon Consulting, Mrs Mogtari's legal representatives accused Abronye of making “false, reckless, and malicious” claims.

Among these, he reportedly alleged that she declined a ministerial post in favour of what he described as a “stress-free presidential staffer role” with a monthly salary of GH₵95,000, further accusing her of having become “disrespectful to Ghanaians.”
The statements, according to the legal team, have gained traction across multiple media platforms, including GhanaWeb and social media, resulting in considerable public ridicule and reputational damage to Mrs Mogtari.

The letter asserts that these claims have led to intense public commentary and inquiries from both her personal and professional networks, causing significant distress.
Her legal representatives contend that Abronye’s assertions are completely baseless and factually incorrect, especially given that information regarding Mrs Mogtari’s appointment is publicly accessible and could have been verified with minimal effort.
They argue that his conduct was not only irresponsible but also a deliberate attempt to defame and undermine her public image.
Consequently, the legal team has demanded an immediate and unreserved retraction, as well as a public apology to be published across all platforms that circulated the original claims, including Net 2 TV, GhanaWeb, MyJoyOnline, Channel One TV, and Citi FM. In addition, they are seeking GH₵10 million in compensation for the reputational harm suffered by Mrs Mogtari.
