Asante Kotoko forward, Albert Amoah, is expected to be out of action for about two months, with a partial ligament tear in his right leg, the club has confirmed.
The forward sustained the ankle injury during the 1-1 draw away at Medeama last week and subsequently missed the club's FA Cup round-16 win last Sunday.
Reacting to the news, head coach Prosper said, "It's unpleasant news losing him and Kotei at this busy stage of the season.
“I initially had chills when it happened during the game because Albert is naturally a strong boy, but the shout he made during the impact, left me worried, but injuries are part of the game, and we can just hope he recovers quickly, as he has shown with his previous injury,” he said.
Asante Kotoko’s two signings in the January transfer window, Kwame Opoku and Sampson Eduku are expected to hold the fort in Amish’s absence.
