Some major roads in Accra will temporarily be closed ahead of the Extraordinary Summit of ECOWAS Heads of State on Thursday.
A statement signed by Head of Public Affairs of the Police Service, Greater Accra Region Police Command, DSP Juliana Obeng said the affected roads will comprise the Jubilee Lounge (KIA) to Liberation Road at Opeibea and Liberation Road from the Airport traffic light through the Independence Avenue at National Theatre traffic light.

Other roads to be affected include Kempinski Hotel to National Theatre road on Independence Avenue through Ako Adjei.
The Police say the roads will be opened immediately after the event is concluded.
Motorists were further advised to take note of the traffic arrangements and comply accordingly.
The police assured that it had made adequate provision for Motor Traffic Police officers to be detailed at vantage points to offer the needed assistance to motorists.
The communique also urged the general public to adhere to the changes and cooperate with the Police to ensure effective traffic management during and after the period.
