Former Norwich City and Brighton and Hove Albion gaffer, Chris Hughton has explained his appointment as the technical advisor for the Black Stars.
Hughton was named as the technical advisor for the team in a new technical team that has Otto Adoo, George Boateng and Mas-Ud Didi Dramani ahead of the 2022 World Cup qualifier playoff against Nigeria next month.
The 63-year-old had been quiet on his new role since the communication from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) but has now lifted the lid in an interview with the Chronicle Live.
"Yes, and I have a lot of energy. I am going to be involved with Ghana. My father hailed from Ghana and Ghana have two World Cup play-off games against Nigeria," Hughton said.
"There is a coach but I have the title of technical advisor and my role will be to support the coach and the staff for these two games."
Despite confirming his new appointment to serve on the Black Stars team, the former Newcastle United manager also said he awaits a return to coaching after receiving several offers.
"But I am very much looking to get back and have a lot to offer," the former Ireland player added.
Ghana will play Nigeria at the Cape Coast Stadium on March 25, travelling to Abuja four days later to play the Super Eagles in the reverse fixture.
