The Director of IT and Elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Omane Boamah, has assured the youth that, under John Dramani Mahama’s leadership, the NDC will eliminate taxes such as the E-Levy, Emission Tax, Betting Tax, and COVID Tax.
Dr Boamah explained that this plan is part of the party’s vision to shift Ghana’s focus from heavy taxation to enhanced production.
Addressing residents in Nyanoa within the Upper West Akim Constituency during his five-day campaign tour of the Eastern Region, Dr Boamah highlighted the proposed creation of a Women’s Bank.
He noted that over one million Ghanaian women are expected to directly benefit from this initiative, which is included in the party’s manifesto, should John Mahama be elected.
Dr Boamah added that the NDC’s proposed “24-hour economy” plan will expand job opportunities, particularly for young Ghanaians seeking to enter the country’s security forces.
He asserted that this approach would increase youth employment and boost security sector capacity.
The NDC aims to implement these initiatives as part of a broader strategy to support sustainable economic growth, alleviate financial burdens on citizens, and empower women and youth across the country.
“John Mahama and Teddy when voted for will ensure that they abolish E-Levy, Betting Tax, Emission Tax and Covid Tax. In place of these taxes, we will introduce jobs through the 24-Hour Economy policy”
“Consider the number of people we are going to employ in the security agencies because, at night, we will need the services of security. We estimate employing 20,000 people in the police service of which the people of Ayensuano will get your share. That is why it is necessary to vote for John Mahama and Teddy Safori Addi."
“The women’s bank is coming to address women’s concerns. All that is needed is for you to register, and indicate the work you do, we render training on how to effectively go about your work and then we give you the loan."
“One million women will benefit from loans from this women’s bank. As a woman, while you gain from the 24-Hour Economy policy, you can also secure money from the women’s bank to work," he assured.
