Former President John Dramani Mahama has rated his government better than the Akufo-Addo-led administration.
According to him, the NDC's four-year reign under his leadership witnessed several developmental projects across the nation.
Mr Mahama believes most campaign promises made by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the lead up to the 2016 General Elections were to deceive Ghanaians in voting them into power.
"The NDC broom is an old broom and we know it can sweep better than the new broom (NPP). When we make promises, we deliver. The NDC don't make promises it doesn't intend to deliver" he said.
The NDC flagbearer said this Monday when he paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief and people of Sogakope in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region.
The Presidential Aspirant said the December 7 polls present an opportunity for the electorates to vote out of office the NPP government after it made promises it could not deliver.
“Between 2013 and 2016, under my administration, we borrowed a little above ¢54 billion. But all over the country you will see what we did with that amount of money.
“Akufo-Addo said we should compare track records. Now ask him; Today, Ghana’s debts is ¢257 billion.
"In four years, he has borrowed more than ¢140 billion. So the simple question Ghanaians should ask is what has (President Akufo-Addo) done with the money?” NDC Flagbearer quizzed
The former President also reiterated his commitment to improve Ghana's infrastructure development through the 'Big Push' plan.
The future NDC government envisages to invest ¢2 billion into physical projects in many parts of the country.
"Nobody progresses a nation by consuming. You progress a nation by investing in capital development. You progress a nation by investing in productivity and that is the vision I have."
John Mahama emplored Ghanaians not to fall again for the NPP's false promises as the Presidential and Parliamentary Elections draw closer.
