The District Chief Executive for North Dayi has assured teachers that their welfare, especially those in deprived communities is paramount to government.
Edmond Kudjoh Attah said it is necessary for teachers posted to such communities to have decent accommodation in the town as it will motivate them to give their best.
Mr Attah said this at the sod cutting of a six-unit teachers' accommodation at Wusuta in the North Dayi District of the Volta region.
"This is why the NPP led government is making sure that teachers all over the country are given the best in everything to motivate them to do their job well and diligently too" the parliamentary candidate stated.
He urged the public to complement government's efforts by helping with in their small ways to make teachers feel comfortable.
The Executive Director for the Volta River Authority Resettlement Trust Fund, Richard Tsum Barimah, noted that the welfare of each teacher is utmost to them hence the reason they are making sure six quarters are built within four months.
This will go a long way to solve the accommodation problems of teachers posted to the community who have to walk long distances to and fro their workplace.
Wusuta community is one of the communities in the North Dayi District the lacked some basic amenities like housing for teachers and good roads.
