Former Greater Accra Regional and Interior Minister, Henry Quartey, has revealed that some of his initiatives were blocked by leaders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) due to his rising influence during his tenure as regional minister.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Mr Quartey explained that his media engagement and active programmes as regional minister made him a strong figure within the party.
“I’ll say any day that my own party felt I was becoming too powerful and then started pulling the plugs. They probably regret it now, because such initiatives could have given them more floating voters,” he said.
Mr Quartey also highlighted his integrity while in office, noting that he never took government land for personal use.
He further expressed concern over indiscipline in public administration.
