Togbe Afede XIV, the Agbogbomefia of Asogli, has attributed Ghana's current state of peace and calm to the patience exhibited by Ghanaians.
He emphasised that considering the prevailing economic hardships, other countries might have experienced massive uproar and disturbances.
In an opinion piece titled 'Bank of Ghana has failed us,' released on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, Togbe Afede XIV urged the country's leaders to urgently address economic challenges.
Simultaneously, he called upon Ghanaians to continue exhibiting patience and maintaining peaceful coexistence.
The chief expressed his belief that Ghana has fallen short of achieving the dreams of its founding fathers and emphasized the need for an urgent reorientation to address existing challenges.
“We have been brought to the brink by despicably dishonest, corrupt, reckless, arrogant, and divisive leadership. We are also victims of bad fiscal and monetary policies."
"We owe our relative peace and stability to the resilience and patience of Ghanaians, and I pray that we remain so. I know what suffering is like, and that is why I will continue to share my thoughts on our development challenges.”
Togbe Afede XIV's insights provide valuable perspectives on the current state of the nation and the importance of effective leadership in navigating challenges.
