President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday, May 1, officially launched the Black Star Experience, a flagship cultural and tourism initiative aimed at establishing Ghana as Africa’s leading destination for arts, heritage, and entertainment.
The initiative, which forms part of the President’s 120-Day Social Contract with Ghanaians, fulfills a key campaign promise to transform Ghana’s tourism landscape by showcasing the country's rich cultural assets and creative talent.

The Black Star Experience is designed as a year-round celebration that spans a wide range of disciplines—including music, film, fashion, cuisine, literature, architecture, and diaspora engagement.
Among the highlights of the programme are: the Pan-African Month, Celebrating Heritage, History and Diaspora Engagement, the Ghana Film Festival and Awards Month, Ghana Music World, Culinary Month, Architecture, Design, Arts and Crafts, Fashion and Textiles Month, and Literacy and Literary Month.

President Mahama said the Black Star Experience will not only promote Ghana’s creative economy but also provide a global platform for Ghanaian talent and traditions to shine.
