Ghana clinched third place at the 2025 WAFU-B U20 Boys Cup with a 2-0 victory over Niger at the University of Ghana Stadium.
The match opened with a balanced first half, as both sides shared possession, but Ghana emerged as the more threatening team heading into the break.
The second half saw Desmond Ofei’s team assert dominance, combining physical play with technical skill to control the tempo and limit Niger's offensive efforts.
Controversy struck in the 67th minute when Niger players briefly left the field in protest of a penalty awarded to Ghana for a handball. After intervention from CAF officials, the game resumed.
Aziz Musibau converted the penalty in the 70th minute and doubled the lead eight minutes later, finishing off a low cross from Kelvin Nkrumah to seal the game.
The result secured Ghana’s place on the podium in this year’s edition of the WAFU-B U20 Boys Cup.
