James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister nominee, appeared before the Appointments Committee of Parliament for his vetting on Thursday, January 23, 2025.

He was the third regional minister nominee to be vetted on the day, following Adolf John Ali, the Northern Regional Minister nominee, and Gyapong Kodwo, the Oti Regional minister nominee.
Before his appointment, James Gunu served as the Volta regional secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
