The Ashanti North Regional Police Command has launched an investigation into a viral video circulating on social media that allegedly captures misconduct involving a policewoman in the Afrancho/Akomadan District.
In a press release issued on Sunday, July 5, 2026, the Command said it had taken notice of the video and had begun investigations to establish the full facts and circumstances surrounding the incident, which reportedly occurred on Friday, July 3, 2026.
According to the statement, the police officer captured in the video has been identified, and investigations are underway to determine what transpired.
“The command assures the general public of its commitment to professionalism, discipline and accountability,” the statement said.
The Police said further updates would be provided as investigations progress.
