A police officer with the Counter-Terrorism Directorate has died after he was shot on Sunday.
In a post on Facebook, the Police Service said Abdul Rashid died at his Abeka Lapaz residence in Accra from the gunshot wounds inflicted on him.
"The incident which occurred on Sunday, July 19, is under investigation, to unravel the circumstances leading to his death and who killed him," the police said.
According to the Service, the pistol, which is believed to have been used is in their custody.
Shakira Nasir, a sister of the deceased who resides with the deceased and was present at the time of the incident is also in police custody.
The 21-year-old is assisting with them investigation, they added.
