Interior Minister Muntaka Mubarak has issued a warning to the public, stating that anyone who attacks firefighters or makes prank calls to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
He says they will face severe legal consequences, including arrest and prosecution.
Addressing firefighters for the first time since assuming office, Mr Mubarak emphasized that such actions endanger lives.
For him, it also contributes to a waste of critical resources essential for saving others.
He further assured firefighters that the government will introduce a life insurance policy to support personnel who suffer injuries in the line of duty.
