QNET, an international e-commerce based direct selling company has condemned the actions of two agents who were arrested for fraud and kidnapping.
According to the institution, its code of conduct forbids any form of illegal cross-border movement from one location to another under false pretense or promises of jobs.
"QNET does not and will not condone any such misconduct. We are deeply disappointed with the developing outcome of this isolated and unfortunate incident.
"QNET condemns the actions of these unscrupulous individuals misusing and misrepresenting the QNET brand in Ghana."
The assertion by the company in a press release sighted by JoyNews follows the arrest of two agents of QNET, Pafio Agordo, 20, and Wisdom Korda, 21, in the Eastern Region by the Adweso District Police Command.
The two are accused of kidnapping and frauding 26-year-old Wisdom. According to the victim, he was contacted by one of the suspects who he schooled with about a job opportunity with an import company.
Upon arrival at Two-Streams Community, he was held against his will and was used as bait to obtain money from his relatives.
The victim’s family, after the demand made a report to the Ghana Police Service, leading to the arrest of the suspects.
Meanwhile, QNET has assured that swift and stern actions will be taken against the said distributors in question.

According to the institution, it will cooperate with any relevant state agencies to ensure that these illegal activities are immediately curtailed.

QNET CONDEMNS CRIMINAL ACTIONS OF CERTAIN DISTRIBUTORS

QNET has recently been made aware of an illegal cross-border migration incident in Accra where three such distributors were arrested alongside more than 50 people of different nationalities. Additionally, there were false allegations of “kidnapping” being made in Koforidua.
QNET’s Code of Conduct strictly prohibits any form of illegal cross-border movement from one location to another under any false pretense or promises of jobs or for any illegal gatherings to take place as alleged. QNET does not and will not condone any such misconduct. We are deeply disappointed with the developing outcome of this isolated and unfortunate incident.
QNET condemns the actions of these unscrupulous individuals misusing and misrepresenting the QNET brand in Ghana. We commit to assure members of the public and all authorities concerned that swift and stern action will be taken against them. QNET reiterates that it respects the rule of law in Ghana and will abide and operate within the framework of the relevant legislation.
