Police say they have shot and killed a suspected robber at the Nyariga Forest along the Bolgatanga-Nyariga stretch in the Upper East Region on Sunday, February 27, 2022.
In a statement on Facebook, the Police said their team, while on patrols, responded to intelligence gathered that armed robbers were attacking traders from the Nyariga market.
"Upon getting to the said location, the team encountered three young men wielding pump-action guns."

The Service says the robbers engaged them in a shootout in which one of them sustained a bullet wound while two others managed to escape.
"The injured suspect was rushed to the Regional Hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival by the medical officer," the Facebook post added.
His body is said to have been deposited at the Upper East Regional Hospital Morgue.
The Police say they also retrieved items such as a pump-action gun loaded and five (5) rounds of BB cartridge ammunition.
The officers also retrieved 11 rounds of the same ammunition from the scene.
They, however, appealed to the residents and traditional leaders in Nyariga to "volunteer any credible information that will lead to the arrest of the other suspects."
