A 20-year-old student of Tepa Senior High School (SHS) has allegedly stabbed a farm labourer to death at Asaman in the Asutifi North District of Ahafo Region.
According to the Asutifi North and South District Police Commander, the deceased named Seidu, 23, was murdered at his home after running an errand.
DSP Paul Ankan indicated that investigations reveal that Seidu had a disagreement with one Ebenezer Opoku, a friend to a shopkeeper when he had visited a store to buy sachet water.
The bone of contention between the two arose when Seidu requested for a polythene bag to hold the large quantity of water he was purchasing.
The deceased is said to have threatened to return the sachet water and get a refund if they had fallen on his way home.
His statement was not taken well by Ebenezer Oduro as he followed the deceased on his way home with a knife after leaving the store.
DSP Paul Akan stated that Seidu was stabbed in the back by Ebenezer Oduro when he was recounting what transpired at the store to his brother.
Meanwhile, the suspect has been picked up by the police and is currently in the custody of the Kenyasi Police.
Also, the remains of the deceased has been deposited at the Saint Elizabeth Hospital morgue.
