A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) communications team, Theophilus Dzimegah Jnr, says the State has not lost the fight against illegal mining, commonly known as galamsey.
Speaking on JoyNews’ Newsfile on Saturday, Mr Dzimegah urged Ghanaians to give the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) more time to deliver results.
He noted that the recent attacks on NAIMOS officials should not be seen as a sign of failure.
According to him, the government’s approach needs sustained support and coordination among key stakeholders to ensure lasting success in protecting the country’s environment.
