The inaugural regional flight for United Nigeria Airlines has been launched in Accra, Ghana.
The airline will operate daily flights to Abuja and four weekly flights to Lagos, offering passengers the opportunity to travel to each country with ease, whether for business or leisure.
According to the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), the airline is the 25th international airline to operate at the Kotoka International Airport.
Speaking at the launch, Chairman and CEO of United Airlines Company Limited, Prof. Obiora Okonkwo was optimistic that venturing into the Ghanaian market will strengthen relations between the two countries and expand business opportunities.

"This inaugural flight marks a major milestone in our journey of expansion and commitment to service excellence, reliability, and connectivity across the region," he said.
Mr. Okonkwo commended the country for the warm welcome offered the entire United Airlines Team.

Symbolically, the first United Nigeria Airlines’ aircraft to touch down at the Kotoka International Airport was named after Ghana’s late former president, Ft. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings.
The airline explained that, the decision to name the aircraft after Ghana’s first president in the fourth republic was born out of his inspiring legacy.
The company added that its desire to unite Africa, beginning with the West African block is one that has to be continued.

“Rawlings’ vision and memory are very inspiring, also because he was a flying officer. So, it was important to immortalize him.” Chibuke Uloka, Public Relations Officer of the airline said.
“We at United Nigeria airlines believe in uniting people, especially West Africa, so we deemed it very valuable to name this aircraft after him,” he added.
