The Dean of Presiding Members in the Volta Region, Hon. Mawunyo Agbe, has commended the Council of State Member for the region, His Excellency Gabriel Tanko Kwamigah-Atokple, for his exemplary leadership and outstanding service since assuming office.
Speaking at the Duamenefa Foundation celebration, where the Conference of Presiding Members presented a symbolic Kente cloth in his honour, Hon. Agbe described H.E. Kwamigah-Atokple as “the shining light of the Volta Region.”
According to him, the Council of State Member has distinguished himself as a leader who is approachable, accessible, and deeply committed to the welfare of the people.
“We, the Conference of Presiding Members in the Volta Region, are proud to have supported his election. Ever since that decision, we have never regretted it. He has proven to be a true servant leader who listens, engages, and acts,” Hon. Agbe said.
He noted that within less than a year in office, H.E. Kwamigah-Atokple has demonstrated uncommon dedication to duty — frequently reaching out to local assemblies to understand their challenges and working collaboratively to address them.
Hon. Agbe explained that the presentation of the Kente cloth was a gesture of profound appreciation for the Council of State Members’ hard work and transformative leadership.
“The Kente we presented is a warrior’s cloth, symbolising strength, courage, and victory. We chose it because His Excellency Kwamigah-Atokple has proven to be a true warrior for the progress and development of the Volta Region. He is indeed our ‘Kekeli’ — the light that guides our region forward,” he emphasised.
He expressed confidence that H.E. Kwamigah-Atokple’s leadership will continue to inspire greater unity and development across the region and the nation.
“This honour is not just for him as an individual, but for the collective good of the Volta Region and Ghana as a whole. We are proud of his achievements and pray for many more years of impactful service,” Hon. Agbe concluded.
