Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has revealed there are already players who are looking for an opportunity to represent the senior women's national team.

Bjorkegren's side has comprised players who grew up in Ghana before jetting off abroad, as well as players of dual citizenship committing to represent the West African country.

Abigail Kofi Kim, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah and Josephine Bonsu are players of dual citizenship who have chosen to represent the Black Queens in recent times.

Quizzed on beefing up his team for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) following their qualification, Bjorkegren revealed he and his technical team are already on the lookout for talents.

"We have so many good players in Ghana and a little bit everywhere, I will say. There are some players who are already abroad and are already knocking on the door [to play for the Black Queens]," he told Joy Sports.

"But we also have many local players who are doing so well. I am looking forward to being more involved in the local leagues and local football to connect more with the coaches here because they are doing the most important job for us.

"If they do a good job, it will help the national team in the future. We see the Black Princesses are doing pretty well as well."

The Black Queens will need to be at their best at the 2026 WAFCON tournament to be staged in Morocco, as it will also serve as qualifiers for the 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil.
