The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has disclosed that it salvaged property valued at more than GHC550 million from fire incidents across the country in 2024.
This revelation was made in a press release issued on Thursday, 1st May 2025, by the Head of Public Relations of the Service, DO II Desmond E. Ackah.
The statement forms part of a comparative analysis of fire incidents recorded between January and December in both 2023 and 2024.
“This achievement highlights the GNFS’s effective fire safety measures and rapid response capabilities,” the statement read.
The report also analyses fire trends, causes, and regional response effectiveness, as well as the influence of recent safety campaigns and operational reforms.
GNFS expressed its commitment to further strengthening fire prevention mechanisms and improving emergency response times, with a view to reducing losses and enhancing public safety nationwide.
