West Ham United manager David Moyes has lauded the signing of Ghana international Mohammed Kudus describing the Ghanaian as a 'terrific talent.'

Kudus put pen to paper on a five-year deal at the London Stadium until the summer of 2028 while he also has an option to extend for another 12 months.

The Hammers beat Brighton and Hove Albion to the signing of the 23-year-old from Ajax after the former had agreed a fee with the Eredivisie side.

Speaking following the official unveiling of the Ghanaian, Moyes was delighted with his addition and praised the club's role in acquiring the services of Kudus.

"I’m delighted we’ve been able to bring Mohammed [Kudus] to West Ham United," the former Manchester United boss said.

"He’s a terrific young talent, who has already shone at the very highest level for Ajax in the Champions League and made well over 150 senior appearances at the age of 23 – so it was no surprise to see so many top clubs chasing his signature this summer.

"The fact we’ve been able to attract a player of his undoubted quality to London Stadium shows the pull West Ham have now – the Board and Tim deserve huge credit for getting this one over the line."

Kudus revealed that he was given a heads-up by former teammate Edson Alvarez, who also moved from Ajax to East London this summer.

"Yeah, he gave me a great impression. He told me his experiences and he is loving it so far as he also pushed for me coming here, so I'm glad I'm here!" he said.

During his three years with Ajax, Kudus made 87 appearances scoring 27 goals and providing 12 assists across all competitions.

He also won three trophies with the club including two league titles in his first two seasons.
