Songstress Gyakie and rapper Yaw Tog have been trending on social media over rumours that the former deliberately ignored a hug from the latter.

In a short video widely shared on Twitter, Yaw Tog and Kofi Jamar were seen seated on a couch in the Greenroom when Gyakie walked to them and hugged only Kofi Jamar but reportedly refused to extend same gesture to Yaw Tog.

The musicians, who received nominations for the 2021 edition of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), were in Nigeria to participate in the event.

The video has since sparked mixed reactions with some having the views that the two musicians may be holding grudges against each other.

However, the claims that the two are beefing have been debunked by Kofi Jamar who says Yaw Tog was the first to receive a hug from Gyakie.

“Let’s stop the false narrative and push what needs the right attention please. Ain’t no fuss between Yaw Tog and Gyakie. First person she hugged was YT before me.”

“However, the video posted captured only my part because that’s what my manager was able to capture as he walked in seconds after Gyakie,” Kofi Jamar explained.

Some twitter users have been reacting to the video. Here are some of them:
