General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) John Boadu has charged party members and supporters to work hard to retain the party in power to sustain the country’s development agenda.

He said the country’s pace to socio-economic transformation and development could only be sustained if the NPP stayed in government for a longer period.

Speaking at the launch of the Ashanti regional 2020 election campaign team in Kumasi, Mr Boadu pointed said the NPP government was on course to build on its achievement in the first term to consolidate the transformation agenda of the country.

He, therefore, said there was the need for all party members to work hard in whatever area they find themselves to tell the story of government and enable Ghanaians to appreciate and vote to retain the party in power in the December elections.

The regional campaign team is chaired by Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the Ashanti regional chairman of the party.

Other members are; Samuel Pyne, Regional Secretary; Akosua Frema Osei Opare, Chief of Staff at the Presidency; Kwabena Nsekyire, Regional first vice-chairman; Akwasi Kyei, regional communications director as well as all constituency chairmen of the party.

Mr Boadu said Ghana was at the crossroad and there was the need for a leader who has proven himself to deliver the industrialisation agenda and transform the socio-economic lives of the people at all levels.

He charged leaders of the campaign team to lead the members of the party to work in all corners of the region in order to sell the good news about the government and its record achievements.

Mr Antwi Boasiako, on behalf of his subordinates thanked the leadership of the party for the confidence reposed in the members of the team.

He further commended residents of the Ashanti Region on their enthusiasm towards the just-ended voter’s registration exercise.

He said this is a clear resolve that people in the region, will go out and vote to retain the NPP in power to continue their good works.

He added that, the campaign team has targeted to retain all its seats in the region and annex the other three seats, which were in the hands of the NDC and is working towards achieving that.
