Coach Otto has had a ‘magnificent’ impact on the Black Stars since his permanent appointment, according to Communication Director of the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum.
The 49-year-old, who was officially unveiled on May 29, has led Ghana to back-to-back victories for the first time in nine months.
The Black Stars came from behind in Bamako to beat Mali, who until then were undefeated in 15 matches, plus a thrilling 4-3 triumph against the Central African Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
“His impact has been absolutely magnificent if you look at how he came back from behind to beat Mali in Bamako in that intimidating condition,” Henry told JoySports.
“CAR are a very tough side, and they gave us an interesting game, a very difficult test at the Baba Yara Stadium, and we were able to win. We have started on a very positive note, we pray for more.”
As a result of the victories, Ghana moved from fourth to second, and joint-top with Comoros on nine points in Group I.
The Black Stars will next face Chad and Madagascar in March 2025 in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
