Ghana captain, Andre Ayew, says it will take the collective effort of the Black Stars to make the country proud at the 2022 World Cup as only the Ayew brothers can’t do it.
Jordan and Andre are the only players to have played at a World Cup among Otto Addo’s 26-man squad for the tournament.
Andre has been to two World Cups in 2010 and 2014 while Jordan was only at the latter.
Ahead of the 2022 global showpiece, the Black Stars captain was asked about his relationship with his brother; he disclosed they can be difference makers but it will take team work to win.
“Both of us are capable of making our own mark and playing at the highest level. We’ll go out there to do our best for Ghana and make the country proud,” Andre told FIFA.
“I played in two World Cups, Jordan in one, so we know what to expect but it’s ultimately a collective effort, not just the two of us.
“The whole team has to come together, work hard and give our best. I think each of the players has what it takes to make their country proud on this world stage.”
Ghana will kick-off their campaign at the World Cup with a meeting against Portugal on November 24 before coming up against South Korea four days later.
The Black Stars will round up their group phase with a clash against old foes Uruguay on December 2.
