Basake Holy Stars will return to CAM Park in Anyinase as they host Medeama SC on Sunday, September 29, 2024, in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
The newly promoted side have a solid start to the season, securing 4 points from 3 games.
This includes a massive win against Hearts of Oak in their opener. They followed that up with a draw against Dreams FC before suffering their first defeat, an away loss to Bibiani Gold Stars, leaving them 8th on the league table.
While their defensive record has been impressive—conceding just one goal in 3 matches—the team has struggled to convert chances, managing only one goal in 270 minutes of top-flight football. Coach Abdulai Gazale will be aiming to sharpen his side’s attack ahead of this weekend's clash.
On the other hand, Medeama SC, led by coach Nebojsa Kapor, has enjoyed a perfect start to the season.
They sit 2nd on the league table after consecutive wins against Accra Lions and Legon Cities. Medeama will also come into this fixture well-rested, as their match against Samartex in week three was postponed due to Samartex’s CAF Champions League commitments.
The former champions will provide a tough challenge for Basake Holy Stars, but the home side is determined to put up a strong fight, especially on their home turf.
The two teams last met in a pre-season match in Tarkwa, with Basake Holy Stars winning on penalties.
