Legon Cities FC and Karela United FC will clash at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium this Sunday in match week 4 of the Ghana Premier League.
Both sides have had a difficult start to the season and will be eager to secure their first win.
Currently, eight teams in the Premier League have yet to record a victory, and two of them face off in this encounter.
For Legon Cities, the new campaign has not gone according to plan. With one draw and two losses in their first three matches, the Royals have been left frustrated, their winless run further amplified by a streak of bad luck.
Sitting 16th on the table with just one point, they have scored two goals and conceded four.
Similarly, Karela United are also struggling to find form.
The Tamale-based side have endured two consecutive defeats and a draw, leaving them 17th, just behind Legon Cities.
With one goal scored and three conceded, they will be desperate to turn their fortunes around in this fixture.
The head-to-head history between these two teams favours Legon Cities, especially when playing at home.
Since the 2020/21 season, the Royals have hosted Karela United four times in the league.
Three of these meetings ended in draws, while Legon Cities claimed a narrow 2-1 victory in their most recent encounter during the 2023/24 season.
Notably, Karela United have never won away against Legon Cities since 2020, a statistic they will be hoping to change this Sunday.
For both sides, this match represents an opportunity to get their season back on track.
With pressure mounting, it promises to be a tightly contested affair as each team looks to claim their first three points of the campaign.
