The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has by law, published a list of cases it has investigated and is prosecuting.
In its publication, the OSP revealed that it has currently investigated two corruption cases and has arraigned the accused persons.
One of the cases involves The Republic vs Mahama Ayariga and one other and the other is the Republic vs Hajia Hawa Ninchema and six others.
“There have been no acquittals, and convictions as the two cases listed above are pending as being prosecuted. Consequently, no value of any assets has been recovered,” the statement said.

STATUTORY HALF YEARLY PUBLICATION OF THE OFFICE OF THE SPECIAL PROSECUTOR PURSUANT TO SECTION 3 (3) OF THE OFFICE OF THE SPECIAL PROSECUTOR ACT, 2017 (ACT 959)
The Office of the Special Prosecutor is required by section 3 (3) of the Office the Special Prosecutor Act, 2017 (Act 959) as part of its functions to “on a half-yearly basis, publish the following information in at least two daily newspapers of national circulation and on the website of the Office:
(a) the list of corruption cases investigated and prosecuted by the Office; and (b) the number of acquittals, convictions and cases pending in respect of the cases prosecuted under (a) and the value of proceeds recovered if any.” This publication constitutes the first half-yearly publication providing the statutory information stipulated in section 3 (3) (a) of Act 959 since the Office became functionally operational with a small core of investigators by end of the year 2018:
