An accident occurred at Anyinasin on the Accra Kumasi highway, about 10 minutes drive from the popular rest stop, Linda Dor.
The accident, estimated to have happened around 4 pm on Saturday, involved a Kumasi bound sprinter and VVIP bus with registration number GM 4906-13.
According to the VVIP bus driver, both vehicles were from Accra headed to Kumasi when the Sprinter bus tried to overtake him.
But the Sprinter bus driver could not complete his task and unfortunately hit the side of the VVIP bus, somersaulted, he added.
Both vehicles veered off the road and headed into the bush.
The Sprinter is mangled beyond repairs and almost all of its occupants, according to emergency officials at the scene, have sustained grave injuries.
The VVIP bus driver says none of his passengers got hurt but he and his conductor had a few scratches.
