Dr Mahamudu Bawumia explained that the said food crops are in abundance and Ghana can afford to export some.
Addressing the chiefs and people of Tatale in the Northern Region, the Vice President said there is increased supply of fertilizer, and other farm inputs and they are accessible.
According to him, the situation is an indication of the state of abundance of food in every district for all to eat.
"We've reduced the prices of fertiliser and its very accessible. 50% reduction in price is very accessible to our farmers across the country and in every district in this country, farmers are farming more and there is more food for everybody to eat.
He said 69 boreholes and 5 small-town water systems have been constructed in the Tatale district to deal with water problems.
The Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has disclosed partment for the mining projects at the Shani iron ore will begin in 2021.
"There is so much wealth in these hills but since independence, we have done very little to exploit and explore these minerals," he said adding that the government is committed to adding value to the resource.
He said the law has been pass and the board set up and all is set for work to begin.
"We have picked two major resources apart from gold. And so we are doing the integrated aluminum and bauxite industry, we passed a law for that and in the other is iron ore and that is going to be based on the Shani reserves here," he added.
